"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.

For weeks now I have been trying to decide on a theme for a small exhibition in july., and coming up blank. Do I go with safe landscapes, eventhough every local photographer does those (quite a bit better than I do)? Do I try to depict local life through portraits of the town's more colourful characters? Do I go with a wildlife theme which was relatively popular at the last exhibition? Or something completely different?
Today it hit me. Do what you love! What do I love? Photographing people. Black and white photos. Old-style gothic horror movies. Surrealism. Things that make you look twice or think twice. I haven't tried putting these things together into one photo, so it's time to jump in the deep end.
The concept: Each photo will have two versions, one dark, one light. The dark side will be black and white images with a surreal horror theme. The opposing light images will be full colour, depicting similar scenes but without the horror elements.
